The Highland Cow

So I’ve been painting animals with poems next to them for a while and this is the latest addition to the list- the Highland cow!

Anyone who’s seen a Highland cow knows that they are the coolest cows there are. They’re huge, shaggy and usually ginger (although there’s a really cute calf near us that’s completely black, he’s ever so fancy). This illustration and poem is a homage to the cow – they really do stand there in the middle of winter with ice and snow building up just waiting it out.

Hope you like him, folks!
